Most Recent Update:

Greetings from Roatan,

Peter continues to tweak various aspects of the dual language project. There have been a number of small things with the program logs and the music scheduling that have needed some fine tuning. One of the new programs that went out over the air with the implementation of the Dual Language Project is a program called Building Relationships. Before the program was finished we had a call from a listener who said, "this is great, everyone needs to hear this."

A lady came to the radio building with a donation saying she is listening in both English and Spanish at the same time and her kids told her to pick either English or Spanish. Her comment was, "You will never know what this station means to me!"

Peter also added 3 more sutures to his resume. These were from someone's cheekbone while he was playing basket ball. [Editor - I had the kid beat. I was taking him all the way to the rack but he all of a sudden decided to play defense with his cheek bone.] Peter received a cut between his eyes...fortunately Dr. Raymond was able to stitch him back together.

Ocean currents brought an incredible amount of trash in to our shores and Gravel Bay, where we live, looked like it should be renamed to Garbage Bay. A crew of people that was hired by the Municipality were on the beach before 5 AM picking up trash because of a new cruise ship coming on Tuesday and not wanting to make a bad impression.

My sister in WI saw a commercial on TV made by a Mormon dentist, stating she worked at a free dental clinic on Roatan. Jan asked if I knew anything about the clinic. I had never heard of the clinic. What a clever way for Satan to make roads into people's lives.

We recently started using a shipping company out of Miami for our mail as well as items needed or things we have purchased over the Internet. In less then a month we've had to put claims in for two stolen items. The company used to pay customs in LaCeiba but now have to pay customs in Puerto Cortez and the shipping company told us that they were having some theft issues.

Though I'm not making Listener Club visits at this time, I've kept busy with Bible studies and visiting people for different reasons.

We are making plans for our furlough this fall. We will be in the States from September 4th through December 5th. Our travels will take us to the western United States as well as reporting to several churches in Minnesota. We are looking forward to seeing some of you at that time.

As always we are grateful for your prayers for this ministry.

In Christ,
The Silseths
