Greetings from Roatan.
We continue with the electrical problems. Peter and Jerry are discussing the next step that needs to be taken. After checking various parts of the electrical system we are left with the sad conclusion that there is more than likely a bad connection in the low voltage cable coming down from transformers. Unfortunately it is probably buried in the conduit which runs down a fairly steep hill. We need to talk to the power company about what to do next. We would like to be able to bring the high voltage down to transformers behind the generator building...alas there are no transformers there right now, so that could be expensive. Please pray that we would have wisdom on how best to proceed and that God would supply the finances needed for this project. We'll know more after this next week.
Last Sunday Peter preached up in Pandy Town. After the service Peter talked with Shannah, who led the worship team. She explained that about three years ago she called the radio station as she was suicidal and she had spoken with Peter. Peter had talked with Shannah and prayed with her on the phone that day. Shannah mentioned how much that meant to her and also how much the radio ministry blessed her.
Mya is on the island for a month to visit her dad and brother. If you remember, Mya is seven years old and is now living with her grandma in FL as her mom, Charie, died a year ago. We made a strawberry cake and Mya stamped cards for her dad, brother and grandma.
We have had rough seas for quite awhile but they calmed down at just the perfect time. Last Wednesday I took the yacht to the mainland to renew my resident visa. This is a yearly process. I usually go before Peter as each year something new is needed that we are not aware of. This year was no different. I was asked for a copy of my passport. Thankfully the agent would allow Peter to bring my passport Monday (7/11) when he goes to renew his resident visa.
Peter here - yes, Sandi got the smooth sailing. Since she returned the winds have picked up and I am looking forward to a rougher ride. I know what you're thinking, yes, perhaps I do deserve a rough ride on the ferry boat.
Before I forget, there are a few new videos on our video blog site (www.theroatanexpress.blogspot.com).
As always thank you for your prayers. Please pray for Kenny, he has been going through some interesting things in life right now. I'm not at liberty to say what they are, but because of this things Kenny has agreed to be an accountability partner with me. God is working in Kenny's life and we have had some great conversations about his life and areas of growth. Please pray for Craig as he has moved to the Honduran capital to continue his education. I don't want to say a lot, but there is one decision he has made in regard to this move that is not a good one. Please pray that Craig will be in the Word on a regular basis.
In Christ,
The Silseths
